Apple Recipe from Spain
Ingredients:
25g/1oz butter
2 tbsp soft brown sugar
1 apple, cored and chopped
100g/3½oz plain flour
100g/3½oz butter, cubed
2 tbsp caster sugar
double cream, to serve
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the soft brown sugar and chopped apple and fry gently until the sugar has melted and the apples have softened slightly. Spoon the apple mix into a gratin dish.
- Place the flour and butter into a small bowl and rub together with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar.
- Sprinkle the crumble mix over the apples and bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until golden-brown on top.
- Serve with a drizzle of double cream.
